CHELSEA PRE SEASON NEWS
In a recent faced during the club's pre-season under new head coach Enzo Maresca. Colwill acknowledged that the team has encountered some difficulties, particularly in their recent matches in the United States.
The Blues are still searching for their first victory in pre-season, having drawn 2-2 against Wrexham, a League One team, before suffering a 4-1 defeat to Celtic. Colwill expressed that the squad is in a period of adjustment as they familiarize themselves with Maresca's tactical approach.
Colwill shared his thoughts on the pre-season, stating, "We've made some errors, but that's part of the process. We're trying to build a new approach, which is quite exciting. Last season, I played primarily as a left-back, and I'm ready to contribute in any position, even in goal if needed!"
He emphasized that the pre-season workload has not been excessively taxing, adding, "None of us are complaining. We aim to be in top shape and fully confident in our style of play. The coaching staff is exceptional and has been working with us both individually and collectively."
During their first pre-season match against Wrexham, Colwill was involved in a heated exchange with James McClean, resulting in a brawl between the two teams. Earlier this summer, he was rumored to be a target for Bayern Munich, but no formal offer was made.
Looking ahead, Chelsea will continue their pre-season tour in the U.S., with upcoming fixtures against Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid scheduled for July 31, August 3, and August 6, respectively, before returning to the UK.
